Oh no! First the terrorists and now CATM being taken off - I can't stand it!!!! OMG that depresses me! Surely there is something we can do about it. We've been writing to TV-land and everything. I wonder if it's because there were only 88 episodes and they've gone thru them a couple of times now. BUMMER!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

I've been sitting here crying cuz I am so upset over this. It's so unfair. The show hasn't even been on a year. I started watching with the marathon in Jan & really got into the show & Freddie in Feb. Altho I watch the show in the 70's & liked it I didn't get into Freddie until the re-runs this yr.

I did read that TVLAND was gonna get rid of the FANDAMONIUM marthons (Geeze before they did another CATM one) & have regular programming on the weekends. I wonder if they may switch it to the weekends? I hope that's the case cuz any is better than none.

Good news on Barney Miller! On the TVLAND message boards on AOL they wrote this about BARNEY MILLER:

Subject: Wojo Wakes Up To Find Himself on Weekend Duty
Date: 09/18/2001 11:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time
From: HOST TVL TheLink
Message-id: <20010918231805.21156.00000807@mb-fs.aol.com>

That's right .. Wojo and the rest of the gang from the 12th Precinct go on weekend duty starting October 20th. Catch episodes of "Barney Miller" each Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. as part of "Crimestoppers" and Sunday at 11:30 p.m. It's all part of the new TV Land weekend lineup that debuts on October 20th.

I did find this out on a TVLAND message board on MAUDE on AOL:

Subject: Re: Maude leaving TV Land???

That schedule is not available for release yet. It will be posted as soon as it is available for public release.

I have asked on the TVLAND message boards on AOL if CATM was being taken off & expressed my displeasure. The folks running the boards for TVLAND seem to be nice. I have a funny feeling they'll tell me they don't know yet & won't know until they get the new schedule & don't know when they will get it.

If I find out anything on the AOL TVLAND boards I will let you all know on here!

This is so sad...

Since it looks like TV Land might be revising it's weekend schedule as well we need to bombard them with e-mails requesting CATM on the weekends. My idea is maybe a back to back episode thing on both Saturdays and Sundays...in the afternoon or early evenings...NOT in the middle of the night!!!! What do you think? This would give us 4 episodes a weekend at least. Let's write them with our requests.... We can't let them take our show!!!!!

NOOOOOOO, NOOOOOOOOO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Please TVLand, don't do this!! As previously said, this great show has been absent from the airwaves for two decades! It is a fine show whose humor still holds up today. It has a loyal and faithful following. If all these others shows can be continued, surely CATM can be in their line up as well. I hope that they will reconsider this decision. I feel as if we are losing "The Baby" all over again. I beseech them to please not do this. Freddie and the entire cast means so much to us. It would be a shame to remove the show from the air.

FREDDIE FOREVER!!

Here a a message from a TVLAND message board on AOL in repsonse to my question about is CATM going off TVLAND:

Subject: Re: Are They Taking CHICO & THE MAN Off TVLAND?

But by some miracle they're not taking it off, can they move it to an earlier time slot?

We've bombarded them with e-mails....
They don't seem to listen.
I'm tempted to write an old-fashioned
letter or three via snail-mail (how quaint!)
LOL!
It's worth the price of a few stamps
to try and get the message across that Freddie fans want their Chico!

I guess I need to do some research to find
a mailing address for TVLand......
