"I Love the 80's" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Vh1 did a documentory on the 1980's and they mentioned the Jeffersons. Am I the only one who thought they did not belong on that special.

The Jefferson are more of a 70's show than an 80's show. And really going back to All in the Family. The Jeffersons were on TV from 1973-85 or 1971-85 if you count the seasons before Sherman Hemsley joined the cast.

Actually, Jeffersons ran from 1975-1985. It premiered in like January or February of 1975.. And Sherman Hemsley was seen in every episode...

I agree though that the Jeffersons were more of a 70's show than an 80's show.

I know, it seems that way but let us remember that it had a successful in the 80's as well and people remember it from that time too.
