Warning you'll cry your eyes out watching this. The parts with the funeral are so sad. I cried my eyes out watching that it was so sad. I had to stop the tape & get up & get a hanky... I just wish they had interviewed his Mom & Mando (Isaac) & Nat Blake & some of the otherd who knew him so well so we could get the whole story. But it was worth it to see it & know what happened...

Hope you all got to see it.

I watched the E-TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY at my parents Fri. I almost sort got into it with my hubby LOL! I am rushing him lets get to my parents to see it & he's like why would I like someone whose dead. I reminded him that he's a big Elvis fan & Elvis died the same yr as Freddie. He was like well he started liking Elvis when he first came out & here I got into Freddie just this year thru the TVLAND re-runs even tho I liked CATM in the 70's. My folks have a big screen tv & I just had to view Freddie on it!

We were gonna go eat dinner with my folks & my mom was gonna roll set my hair for me since she does it better than I can. So I planned to be there in time for the E-Story. They wanted to go ahead & eat. So I ate during the commercials & when the commercials were over ran back to Freddie.

They have some really cute pictures of him on there! I love the clips where he's wearing that black suit & is on Mike Douglas & where he's wearing the black suit & doing the stand-up comedy routine. They show a clip of him where he's doing his stand-up comedy act & he's wearing a jacket that zips up in the front & has a hood on the back of it. He looks so cute there. He looks like a baby. Bless his heart he was sooo young.

Whenever I watch the E-Story when they show the parts where he died & the film clips of the funeral it makes me cry. I wind up sobbing my eyes out. I couldn't go all to pieces sobbing & stuff when at my parents cuz they'd wonder what was wrong & I didn't want to have to explain why I'm going all to pieces. So I had to hold it all inside. When the sad parts came on, his death & the funeral & all, I cried. It was sooo sad. I was in tears watching the sad stuff. It just kills me to see the funeral, it's so sad. I had tears running out my eyes. I needed a hanky but didn't have one with me cuz I'd left my purse in the car. The first time I watched my video of the E-Story I had to pause the tape to go get a hanky. So after that I remembered to make sure I had one with me whenever I watched it so I don't have to stop the tape. But this time I forgot. & Here I had in my purse some nice disposable hankies that had pretty flowers painted on them but can't go get one cuz this is live tv & If I go to the car to get one I'll miss Freddie. When the next set of commercials came on I had to go to the bathroom real quick & grab a coupla Kleenexes. (I hate those things cuz they tear real easy but when you're desperate...) I think I soggied up a coupla Kleenexes watching the sad stuff. At the end of the show when it's going off they show all these nice pics from the show as it's going off with music playing in the background. That was sooo sad too. It made me cry seeing all those pics of him. It was so sad & sweet... I was so glad no one was in the room with me. Cuz no one would understand but you guys. When I first got into CATM/Freddie, I thought well I'm not gonna get sad over him but laugh at his comedy. But after awhile I got sad over him. I thought it was nice they showed it the same day that Freddie was back on CATM. But it was a sad show but nice to see him again on tv.

I have the show on tape. I like to watch the first 30-45 minutes or so, before all the sad stuff comes on.
Same way with the book--I love reading the early chapters (his childhood and teens and rise to fame) over and over, but can hardly bring myself to read the later chapters where his world starts crumbling.....

Sad

I also have the show on tape (muchas gracias Luckymama!), and I am with you--I thought they spent waaaaay too long on the events surrounding his death, so that only the first half or so is watchable!

As for the book, I just wish his mother had not chosen to frame the story of his early life as flashbacks of her thoughts as she sat in the hospital at the end. Having those images of his death hit me immediately made me almost hesitant to continue reading. I am so glad I did, though--it just proved to me what I had already thought, that Freddie was a remarkable person not only for his outward beauty and talent, but for the love in his heart.
