Post The Freddie Prinze Story

I received a copy of "The Freddie Prinze Story" yesterday in the mail (thank you so very much Luckymama). I wanted to share with you some thoughts and what I got out of reading his life story. Hope you don't mind.
1. Freddie loved lemonade
2. Freddie loved his mother such as a son should, with his whole being.
3. Freddie loved his father and his extended family.
4. Freddie loved to write songs and could play the guitar, bass guitar, organ, piano and drums and had a wonderful singing voice.
5. Freddie was given a set of drums by Buddie Rich but ended up given them to a man who needed a drum set to make a living.
6. Freddie loved his friends and was very generous to a fault.

7. Freddie loved Jack and vaudeville
8. Freddie loved Freddie Jr. more than life itself.
9. Freddie loved Kathy
10. Freddie loved his bible and carried it with him everywhere.
11. Freddie believed in the power of prayer and loved God very much.
12. Freddie thought about becoming a minister.

13. Freddie loved to give bear hugs and kisses.

14. Freddie didn't care that much for money.

15. Freddie's dream of buying a house for his mother became a reality. The house came with a swimming pool, which was a must.

16. Freddie loved Mando (Zak)

17. Freddie loved Paul William and David
Brenner.

18. Freddie loved Nat

19. Freddie loved California and all it's beauty.

20. Freddie sometimes longed to go back to his old New York neighborhood and his friends.

21. Freddie loved playing records.

22. Freddie heart was sincere and full of
love.
23. Freddie loved making people laugh and sharing his talent with the world.
24. I believe that Freddie loved Chico and was very careful that the scripts did not offend any Chicano.
25. Freddie loved his blue corvet.
26. Freddie admired President and Mrs Carter and was honored to meet them at the White House.
27. Freddie worked extremely hard at his craft and believed in himself.
28. Freddie never really liked being alone.
29. Freddie tried extremely hard to beat
his drug habit but just could not get a handle on it.
30. Last but not least, he is the Prince, and he proved that over and over in his short lifetime.

These are just a few things that I came away with after reading the book. There are many more positive things about Freddie but the above are just a few I wanted to share with his family of fans. Enjoy!!

It's a great book but very sad. It shows the real Freddie not the sensationalized accounts of him. I want to copy what you wrote & put it on my Freddie/CATM site. I'll give you credit for it...

Yes...thank you Macca for highlighting so wonderfully all the things that only a mother's knowledge and insight could reveal about a young man many people loved but only she really knew. Before I had the privilege of reading this sweet, sad, spiritual book, and seeing the pictures in it, I knew enough to say that Freddie was beautiful, funny, and intelligent. Since reading it, though, I can say I understand his good (and bad) qualities in a much deeper way. He was all those things, but to a greater extent than any of us realized, and had so many other sides we would otherwise never have known. His mother is a wonderful writer and so generous to his fans to have given us the work of her heart.

Reading her book makes me wish that I could meet her and sit and talk about our sons together. She seems like a really sweet, sensitive person. The article on hillbilly's site about her going on tour promoting this book 2 years after his death is another place to find some insite on this warm, caring woman....I have a hard time loving my kids sometimes, but she helps me to realize how precious they are to me....Thank's Maria, wherever you are!

Cheryl,
Yes you can post this on your site. Anything
positive I'm all for. It is not necessary to
give me credit. Loving Freddie and his memory is enough for me. Cheryl, could you please post your web site address on the boards so I can save it to my favorites.

Thanks so much,
Macca

Thanks! I'll post the urrl to it on here as soon as I'm done with it. I got another e-mail from GEOCITIES saying the site was too popular & getting too many hits so I've gottamove more stuff from it from GEOCITIES to TRIPOD. Sigh... It's a lot of work but the cause is a good one.
