Sad Ehhh... I just can't like this show anymore!

I remember when I was 5 years old..... when the Simpsons came out with the first episode in 1990. I would sneak up to the den to watch this show. I got all the 1st season eps. What I notcied about then and now is.... that back then..... they were more dysfunctional & cartoony & now they are just boring... and the stories don't help either.I really think this is the point it should end.I mean every story covered just about everything they could possibly think of and this series is getting stale! I persoanlly think this should have been cancelled years ago.My friends here agree.

I have to honestly say that I agree with you. After being on for so many years you kinda loose your edge and plots.

Yeah, it should really have gone about 3 or 4 years ago. The problem is, they are going away from the witty, intelligent, humor that made them famous. They are now going into the more bathroom type of humor, its very sad indeed. Another thing they did is try to make Marge funny, but that's another post. Its funny, you con always tell the difference between hardcore fans and those who only watch occasionally, all the hardcore fans will agree that it should be gone.

Really you can only do somethings only so many times. Plus the show always has plots that make no sense, (If that was supposed to be funny I'm not laughing). Even when they try to do the halloween episodes they're pretty much rewrites off the old ones, or how bout that new Sideshow Bob episode it wasn't that appealing to me.

Agreed.

I have said "Simpsons" has been out of ideas for quite some time. The show has gotten self refferential and silly sometimes.
Sure, they do manage a good laugh from time to time, but things have gotten out of control in Springfield.

Since The Simpsons is now the longest running comedy on the tube right now, FOX probably has no desire to retire it...

This is true, eventhough FOX has some good shows that could do well, it just won't let go. I don't blame them, I still watch The Simpsons, and as much as all you guys complain, you all do to. If I was the head of FOX, I would keep it as long as people still watch it, because as you all know, its all about profit.

Yeah, but if you live in my area we see The Simpsons 4 times a day which gets pretty annoying. And they're all the fairly new episodes so, yeah.

You know, maybe it's time the producers of "The Simpsons" did something...well, DRASTIC...like bring in Ted McGinley or something (I'm kidding, I'm kidding...)

Seriously, how about they scale the stories back a bit? It doesn't always have to be about world-shattering events, you know. Maybe they can have a single story about some mundane occurance being blown out of proportion, like Maggie going to day care or Bart hitting puberty or Patty and Selma (or just Patty) coming out of the closet, or Ned Flanders finally punching Homer in the mouth, or Smithers developing a crush on Moe or Nelson finds God or they FINALLY explain what the real deal is with Lenny and Carl...something different...

Ok heres a question do they leave Maggie out of the story purposley of what cause most of the newer and older episodes don't mention Maggie at all.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. If you'll remember, in the old shorts that ran on "Tracey Ullman", Maggie was depicted as a sort of "superbaby", and now they hardly use her at all, unless as a cap to a complicated plot (i.e. "Who Shot Mr. Burns" and last season's finale', where in both instances Maggie rescues Homer from certain death!) Maybe the writer are unable to devise any stories around a character who can't talk your ear off, as Bart and especially Lisa are wont to do...

They definetly need to do something to improove the storylines, I saw tonight's new episode in this country and it was about the Simpsons taking part in a reality TV show, not only was it a stupid plot but the jokes were just completely unfunny.

Are you talking about the one where the Simpsons go to Japan.

No. It was an episode that aired a month or two ago. It had the Simpsons being on a reality show in which they live in 19th century conditions (no electricity, old-fashioned clothes, etc.)
