I have no idea what it's about, but it is one of my favorite songs.
Every time I hear it on the radio, I have to stop whtever I'm doing to listen to it.

Besides, and song that mentions "vestal virgins" is okay in my book!

I really fell in love with that song when Martin Scorcese used it throughout the "Life Lessons" segment he directed for "New York Stories."
One of the best uses of a song I have ever seen in a film...
