In light of what has happened in the last few days, I wasn't sure if I should post this; but, I just heard that it was 27 yrs. ago today that Chico and the man made its debut on television. I hope you don't mind me posting this. Thank you for your time!

Wow, has it been that long??? Makes me feel so old. It seems like yesterday I was a young teenager watching SANFORD & SON on my parents 1967 color tv & after it went off decided to watch & see what was on next. The next show tunred out it was a new one called CHICO & THE MAN. It looked good so I decided to watch it & I enjoyed it & watched it every week after that. Soon every teenager in the country was watching it. I loved the show even tho I wasn't into Freddie at the time. Now in 2001 I find out the show is coming back on & they are having a FANDEMONIUM marathon. So I watch alot of the marathon & begin watching the show again at it's midnite slot & enjoy watching it. Soon I get really into the show & then later I get into Freddie.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CHICO & THE MAN! I need to watch a few episodes in honor the anniversary...

Friday nights were great as a kid were great.
I loved Chico and the Man. My parents would watch it with me. We would sit in the livingroom, my dad in his chair and my mother with me snuggled next to her. Those were nice times. I loved being a kid then. I was 5 when Chico and the Man came out. ------------------ Sweathog Chronicle "Happy Birthday Miss Jones, you sure got nice...bones." - Electric Company - 1970's That cracks me up every time I watch it. |
