Uugh, I remember that annoying gallery thing. I got rid of it well over a year ago, but can't seem to recall how. Is there a preference section were you can maybe set it to not open when windows start?

Yea mine all of a sudden disappeared one day...I know to get rid of it temporarily you click on it and then click close.
