I'm curious as to how Freddie treated his father when he was co-hosting the Mike Douglas show. Did anyone see that episode where his parents made an appearance? If he didn't leave anything to his father in his will (which still puzzles me why he didn't)
I'd like to know how they treated one another
and how his dad responded to Freddie on the show.

You've got my curiosity up too! I'd love to know more myself. I know he adored his mom & thought the world of her. I bet if she were to have died before he did it would've broke his heart & he would've cried his dear heart out...

I asked Mike if he saw that & he said he saw that & he acted nice to him & his Mom. Mike says he thinks he ated about the same to both parents. Mike said it's been so long since he seen it. He said he wore a pantsuit kind like he did on CATM. Mike thinks he sang with Mike Douglas on there but he doesn't remember what he sang on there. Then again I'm aksing a 50 yr old man to remember 28 yrs back in his head...

Oh yeah Mike said that the next week they are gonna have a special on the TONIGHT SHOW on it's history on NBC. He doesn't know the date or time or if Freddie will be on there or not. He saw an ad on TV just before Jay Leno came on the other nite. I'd recommend watching & taping it just in case Freddie is on there. If he isn't you can always tape something else over it. Just a heads up cuz ya never know. If I find out any more I'll let ya'll know!

Thumbs up

Unfortunately, I do not have the tapes where Freddie co-hosted with Mike Douglas.

However, I do remember they surprised him one day by having his parents there. He was very happy and even got a little teary. He hugged them both and was very sweet to both of his parents. They expressed how very proud of him they were.

FREDDIE FOREVER!!

I mentioned what you said about him being on the Mike Douglas show to Mike & he said he remembers this: He said Freddie had on a black single breasted leisure suit & a white shirt with an open collar with it like they did back then & he wore a white hanky in the pocket of his suit coat. He said that when Freddie parents came out he remembered he was really happy to see them & was in tears & reached up with his hand to wipe his eyes. He also sang a pop type song with Mike Douglas. & Mike says he sounded very well for someone who didin't usually sing. He doesn't remember what jokes he told...

Thanks Cheryl - boy would I love to have a tape of that! Your husband sure has a great memory if he remembers that much about the show after all these years. Tell him thanks!
Now, if only we can find someone that has the tapes of that week Freddie co-hosted with Mike Douglas but I guess not many people did any taping back then.

The bad thing is he can't remember what he sang with Mike Douglas on there & sadly they didn't have VCR's back then. Mike does want to order this book on the Mike Douglas Show that Mike Douglas supposedly wrote a few yrs ago. I sure hope it mentions Freddie in there. I wonder if he was ever on Merv Griffin?
