I wonder if Freddie was ever on there? Of course, he had so much going on when he was alive; he probably didn't have time!
It woulda been great to see him pair up with Tony or another celeb for the telethon!

Never know! Even now, Freddie surprises me, in all the things I find he had done that I never knew about at the time!

Yes, I know that Freddie did help with a fund-raiser-type event back in the 70's. I have a son with cerebral palsy and he is in a wheelchair and now on oxygen 24 hours 7 days a week. He is my pride and my joy. I remember Freddie being on a portion of a CP telethon back then and I was so excited to know he was participating even though it was for just an instant and he was only on it the one time. He spoke about parents of handicapped children being special and he mentioned that Tony Orlando has a sister who was handicapped. It showed me that he was a very sensitive and caring young man.

Bless your heart Joy - thank you for sharing that you have CP too. I have a special love in my heart for ALL people that have any kind of disability. I'm sure Freddie would be doing even more today for special causes as I know he was very close to Tony Orlando and his sister. I don't know how young you were back when F.P. appeared on that telethon but it had to be the mid 70's. I helped out with a lot of cerebral palsy telethons after that thinking maybe I'd get a little closer to him but of course that never happened. I don't even think they have CP telethons any more.

Great minds think alike! I too had been wondering today if Freddie was ever on any of the Jerry Lewis MD telethons. I'd have loved to have seen him on the CP one. Sorry to hear of those on here who have it. I wish someone would do one for diabetes (My hubby & I both have it). It sounds like Freddie was a very caring person.

To all my Freddie Friends here.
I want to thank you all for your kind thoughts.
I did see a cp telethon a couyple of years ago.Unfortunately i never saw the one with Freddie.
I am one of the fortunate ones,I am able to get around on my own and I am self employed.
Many times in my life i have been the brunt of cruel remarks from"Friends" and people who i have known all my life,so I find this board, all the Freddie sites, and the wonderful friends i have met through Freddie that help make each day a little brighter and a little less painful.
I appreciate you all.

So sorry to hear about ya'll's illnesses. That's mean that people will make bad comments towards you over it. Being diabetic I sometimes get comments like I wouldn't have it if I would lose weight etc or people trying to tell me how to take care of my diabetic hubby like If his sugar is low & I let him eat something to sweet to keep it from going low then I get comments like I'm letting him eat sweets & shouldn't. It get's so frustrating so I know how you feel.

Red face

My hubby goes into a sweet attack occasionally, I mean a SWEET ATTACK! I feel sorry for him because being diabetic is a pain. He gets exhausted and stuff. He did lose alot of weight and looks much better now. He really wants to eradicate the diabetes forever...... He had a brother who passed away from it. He was 50 when he died. So, it's really close to home especially for my kids.
