Default How Much Do You All Pay For Cable? (or Satellite)

Guys,

I always thought that cable rates were way too high for what you get. Each year, they do keep going up by about $3.00-4.00 to cover inflation and year-to-year programming costs. Our cable company charges anywhere from $35.00 (standard service) to $145.00 (Every digital channel+ Premium On-Demand+High speed Internet) You can get all the premium cable channels and high-speed Internet on Digital with the Deluxe package, except the Latino Package, Optional Movie Lovers Package, and Playboy Channel for about $130.00 We are about at the half-way point. Our rates went up about $4.00 beginning with our Jaunary bill. For about $75.00/mo + tax, we get Standard Service+Digital+HBO+Showtime. We have about 200 channels out of the 250 total of cable + a feature called I-control where you can order PPV movies and have VCR-like control over them for 24 hours without a VCR! We also have about 15 channels of free I-Control. We have 15 screens of HBO, 17 screens of Showtime and they gave us The Movie Channel Package (6 screens of TMC and Flix) for free because we already have HBO/Showtime.

It's pricy but it's worth it. I could not live without cable, and there is really nothing on regular TV. My aunt who lives in a condo pays $55 a month and doesn't get any extras. (No digital, no I-control, no movie channels or anything.) So, I am interested in knowing how much you pay per month. (List your rates for what you pay beginning in January if you know what your rates will be.) Did they go up or stay the same? I'm just interested in knowing if I have a good deal above with my service and would like to find out if the rates are pretty much universal .

I pay $40.00 a month for cable. It covers 62 channels. I don't get sattelite, but I'm happy with the channels I get. I don't think I could live without cable. I like the films on TBS and the 70s and 80s shows on Prime.

$70 something for satellite. However, we get both the HBO package and the Cinemax package, and the HBO is like $15. We also pay $5 for The Superstations package to get channels from LA, NY, and Denver.

About $42.00 for basic cable. HBO, SHO, etc. cost extra, of course. We are satisfied with the basics. The monthly fee was something like $8.00 when we first got it in early 1985.

$36 a month for basic cable. I used to get digital cable but cancalled it when they kept jacking up the price. It was almost $60 a month by the time I cancelled it.

a lot. it cost like $100 to get satellite installed for the living room and then another 100 for my room (the week before it was 50 for another installation). then it's like 100 a month for each one. so that's 200. then, my grandma has her own satellite. lol.

You all need to stop complaning about your cable costs! Everything in America is cheaper than in the UK and cable/satalite subscriptions are no different!!
Do you wanna know how much I pay each month in satalite subscription costs? Ł45 - which is the equivalent of about $100!!...........per month!!!! It also cost me over the equivalent of $400 to get the whole thing installed in the first place so all of you who are moaning about having to pay a measley $60 should consider yourselves lucky!!!
