Very Funny Line Cut From "Tin Can Man" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi All,

You had a discussion of the editing of The Munsters on TV Land vs. local syndication affiliates. One of the very funny lines cut out is in "Tin Can Man" Where Eddie/Grandpa build a robot for the school's science fair. The principal hates Eddie and wants to suspend him from school for failing science. So, he puts a wrench in the robot, just as the family is getting ready to get the robot on stage!! Meanwhile, stalled for time, Herman goes on stage with an old jokebook (much to Lilly's chagrin) and the audience thinks that Herman is the robot!!! While he is performing, a man turns to his wife in the audience and says (this is cut out in TV Land) "Now, why can't our Sydney build something like that? He's 16 years old and he can barley wave bye-bye!" (Is this line still in syndication?)

Then Herman is presured by the family to leave the stage, (cause it's Eddie's night) Grandpa tries to fix the robot but it blows up. Eddie goes out to tell the audience that his robot expolded backstage. (The audience thinks Herman blew up!) and they all feel bad for Eddie, and he wins the science fair prize and is allowed to stay in school.

TV Land sucks....... They are a part of Nick and im sure that would be cut on NICK also........ Stupid/Un-needed censorship..
