Default Are There Any Websites For Auditioning For TV Shows/Commercials?

I wanna know if there are any websites for auditioning for tv shows & commercials cause i wanna audition for tv shows & commercials. I wanna get into show business & i'm dead serious about it. I've been serious about it for a long time, i've just never pursued it & i didn't know where i could audition. Cleveland isn't like New York or LA where there are auditions everywhere in the city for show business. Has anybody on here ever auditioned for a tv show or a commercial? How do u get on programs like American Idol & Star Search?

you might want to try getting an agent first.. they are pretty easy to get . go to the web, and just type in entertainment agents.. or anything to do with tv and commercial auditions. I am sure something will pop up

Is a entertainment agent gonna charge u anything to be your agent? I don't have any portfolio's of myself taken & i don't have the money to do that right now. I don't think i'll ever have the money to do that cause i'm in debt right now. I owe like $4,000 cause i'm paying off my credit card bills. That's why i wish i knew where i could apply for a grant somewhere cause i desperately need money to pay off my debt & go to school. I ain't trying to get a loan from anybody or sign up for financial aid if i go to school. If i wanna get into show business i'm probably gonna have to move to New York or LA cause Cleveland don't be having no auditions here for tv shows & commercials.

This black girl i talked to who's from Toronto told me that she's been in rap & r&b videos & she has a agent but she hasn't been getting any calls lately cause work is slow. That's my only concern about getting into show business is when your agents have a hard time getting u work. I wanna know does old tv stars & people who aren't singing or rapping anymore, do they still get royalty checks every month once they retire from show business?

Agents are paid a percentage of whatever you earn from each project. I have no idea how old you are or what kind of experience you've had, but I wouldn't suggest going out and just getting any old agent. You sound as though you're younger and inexperienced. The best advice I'd give you is to get involved in some local community theatre and train a little before you rush off auditioning.

As for agents, they just get you the auditions... they're not responsible for getting you work... you have to get that for yourself. The more experienced you are, the better chance you'll have of getting work. It's a tough business... you have to expect to struggle for a bit, if not for your whole life. Very few actually make it "big." And if in fact you do make a blockbuster or a hit record, you're correct. When you retire, you still receive royalties for any money invested into your movie/records.

I'm not going to pretend to know a lot about the movie industry... I'm a stage actress. LOL. The only way I'd ever step into a camera, is the day traditional movie musicals are brought back on screen. :-) So, anyway... I know a lot of "movie stars" just ran out, got agents, and started auditioning. Most stage actors I know had lots of training prior to their big breaks. I guess in Hollywood it's all about chancing it... like I said, I don't know much about Hollywood and I'm not going to pretend to. If you have a Broadway question, I'd be happy to answer that, or find an answer for you if I don't know it. I just don't think it's wise to just go out and invest time into an agent until you have a good foot in the door first. Does that make sense?

I think it depends on their contract. Sometimes an actor or actress will only get royalties for a few years because of a contract.

I have family in the business...and the main thing to know is NOT TO PAY AN AGENT ANYTHING until you get paid! Agents get paid when YOU do, and if they ask for money up front DONT GIVE IT TO THEM!!
