Thumbs up Donnie Darko

Anyone seen it? What did you think?

I thought it was very well done.

Confusing at times and not all of the holes were filled by the end, but it was an exceptional viewing experience for me.

KRAMER: Woah, woah, woah. What-what did you just say?
JERRY: I can't take it anymore! She's driving me crazy! I can't sleep, I can't leave the house, and I' here, I'm climbin' the walls. Meanwhile, I'm dating a virgin, I'm in this contest - something's gotta give!

I just finished watching and I really really enjoyed it even though it took me a long time to understand some of it.
I still don't get a few parts but its still great.

I watched it two months ago- during the film I was pretty confused- but I really enjoyed the film. I need to go buy a copy now to understand it completely- but I'd recommend it to fans of any kind of 'indie' or new wave film- at least it makes you think.

I'd also recommend Linklater's Waking Life. He's currently directed School of Rock Didn't he? Well- this is closer to his older work than this new film 'School of Rock'.

I haven't seen it and it used to come out in conversation in my English class all the time. I think I should get it and watch it one day.

Yes. He went back in time so that he would die and save the others that died if he didn't. (Get what I'm saying?)

I bought Donnie Darko a few days ago on video (the dvd looks good though- but the rentals don't have special features) and just watched it. Has anyone been the the officical website- it's creepy but there isn't much information.

No one really knows exactly why everything happens in the movie- not even the director/writer.

Is it just me or did anyone else think Jake Gyllenhall looked like a double of Tobey Maguire when he was in 'The Good Girl'? It's also odd that kirsten dunst dated Gyllenhall.

Is maggie gyllenhall (darko's mom) related to Jake in real life or is their last name a coincidence. I also didn't get why Drew Barrymore was in Donny Darko- or the Chinese Girl.

I got through the whole website. It's really cool but it just kind of ends after the 3rd "level." Maggie and Jake are brother and sister in real life.
