Post The Sons of Liberty- Patriots or Terrorists? Major Help!

Guys...I've got this huge term paper due January 2nd. It's one of the hardest questions to write a paper on I have ever seen...

Do you think the Sons of Liberty were patriots to their nation, or a group of terrorists trying to overthrow the British Parliament? First define the terms 'terrorist' and 'patriot'. Prove your opinion with cold, hard literary facts from your history book, Johnny Tremain by Ester Forbes, and the poem "Paul Revere's Ride" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

----Well....I think they were paitriots. They were fighting for their freedom. But this paper has to be at least 4 pages long. I can't have 2 sentences on it. I think I'm going to have to start from 1763 when the French & Indian War ended all the way through the Proclamation of 1963, Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party/Massacre, Sugar Act, Townshend Acts, Quartering Acts, up to the last battle of the American Revolution. (Obviously not in that order) That's like a 20 year time span.

Anyone who has ever read 'Johnny Tremain' would be a big help. Even if you haven't, I still need your guys thoughts and opinions on this! You'd think it would be easy for me, seeing as I live in Massachusetts... but if I fail this paper, I practically fail the course for the whole year.

A whole big THANK YOU in advance to anyone who can help me!

I read that book in 8th grade! We had to do a similar prodject...something with loyalists and patriots..... haha...uh anywayz, I believe the Sons of Liberty were a bunch of power hungry hooligans, but I don't know about terrorists....ha. And Since you have to use the book to prove your opinion, it would be easier to say that they were patriots (especailly since Johnny being the main character was....)Oh, are you JUST supposed to use that poem and the book to prove your point, or can you use other facts? But anywayz, for the book, go back and read the stuff about the Boston Tea Party and a few chapters before that....It'll tell how the patriots felt that they were being treated unjustly by being taxed without representation. All the "Boston Observer" meetings will help a lot with the opinions of patriots also....Uhhhh, there's a lot of parts where to book makes the "red coats" seem harsh and unfair. I don't really know what you need man, but if you have a more specific question, ask.

I think they were patriots too. They came to America to get away from the evil English peoples and all they wanted was freedom. They stood up for their country, which was...America. So that doesnt make them terrorists..

well, patriot or terrorist depends what your view is- because technically they were still british citizens and were acting out against the government- but that wont help you with your paper so ill shut up now! lol!

can you use quotes? in that case im not sure of the exact wording but i believe jefferson said that when a king becomes a tyrant he breaks the bond between himself and his subjects. since king george had enacted various acts that the colonists considered tyrannical- in essence he was no longer their king.
