What are some movies that you saw but you were unable to follow the story line, didn't understand what was happening, or thought the whole thing didn't make sense at all. I know I might have been redundant..but..did anyone see any movies that fell under the categories I mentioned?

The Sum of All Fears really messed with my brain for the first 30 minutes of so, but then things kinda came into play with one another.

Vanilla Sky. I didnt understand it and it sucked IMO. The best part of the movie was Conans "appearance" on a background TV screen.

"The Horse Whisperer" not because the storyline and plot devices were confusing, but because I was asleep the whole movie! It was so, damn, boring!

I understand why everyone found Vanilla Sky so confusing, but what made it a terrible movie was that in the last 15 minutes they explained everything that was going on (at least what was happening to Tom Cruise).
It was a total cop-out with no real clues for you to even guess what the deal was. It felt like there was no real payoff for all the mystery. Movies like Mulholland Dr. are left up to you for your own interpretation and I feel this is much better than a quick wrap-up. Another confusing movie which I thought still left much to your own interpretation was Jacob's Ladder. |

I liked the director's commentary on the Vanilla Sky dvd more than the actual movie itself. It was as long as the movie.
Eyes Wide Shut was another brain twister for me. |

This movie wasn't confusing as it was trippy, but Natural Born Killers.

I have never been able to follow any of David Lynch's films.
He's a little to out there for me.. A recent film that I just don't get that I saw in the theaters and have seen again now that is on HBO is "A.I. Artificial Intelligence." Is it Sci Fi? A fairy tale? A futristic retelling of Pinnochio? While it was visually stunning, none of the pieces fit together. Plus that sixth sense kid really scares me sometimes... |
