Default Nick Acknowledges What We Previously Knew

In an ad, currently running on Nick and TV Land, the announcer finally states the horrible truth about Nick at nut that we suspected. The ad says that Nick at nut* and TV Land are like a giant peanut and a crossing guard, they are very different. They say TV Land is the home of classic tv from the past 50 years, while Nick at nut is the home of recent tv comedies. So, the days of Nick being the home of classic tv are, as we feared, long gone. We have only 90's and beyond shows to look forward to, using the term "look forward to" lightly.

*Yes, I know the correct term is Nick at Nite, but I think my word is better suited to obvious mindset of the programmers at said station.*

Yeah, I've seen that commericial. I still have hopes that the ratings take a nosedive over night and end up in the gutter. I'm sure several of us would get a laugh out of that.

I'm just glad they finally seperated the two channels. Now maybe, just maybe we could stop hearing some of these complaints about N@N. I like it the way it is.

Ugh yes! I cant believe the turn (for the WORSE) N@N has taken.. I used to be obsessed with this show. The only shows I watch on N@N are Brady Bunch & Happy Days. (3's Co. too). Im with you Jenny.. I hope the station loses all its ratings, and then maybe theyll bring back the REAL classics!

Oh, and I think that monkey with writers block is just so funny!

I like that they show Cheers. I don't think any of my local stations have aired it in reruns for a couple of years. I do agree that it doesn't need to be on, like, four times a night though.

They are basicly explaining how unpredictable they can be, if you take the two networks; they both have different qualities and they are always looking for new changes so you never know what will happen to their network next, they're always adding new shows and changing their schedules, so you never know what's in store for them next.

Now that they explained the differences between each network, we know what we can expect in the future.

N@N is going to pot. Like the person who started this post said we finaly got our answer that we have been dreading. The only watchable shows for me are Three's Company of course,All in the Family, and Happy Days. Roseanne shouldn't be on N@N period. Full House shouldn't be on for a while anyway. There are more deserving shows to air. I hate cheers, but I can except it if its on only 1 hour a night. I also Hope once N@N gets show such as Roseanne (any one who screws up our natinal anthem should not be on tv,if anyone remembers the Baseball all star game a few years ago) that the rating take a huge nosedive.

I completely agree with you. I feel kind of like an outsider when I say that I like Cheers or that I like N@N's lineup because everyone else on this board complains about it. Now hopefully everyone who likes older classics can watch TVLAND and everyone who likes newer classics can watch N@N. I personally do like that N@N is showing shows from the 80s but I wish they would also show "Night Court", "Empty Nest", "Murphy Brown", and "Wings".

In my Nick at Nite report, I'm going to look at the whole Spectrum of their existance and do an Analysis of it.

A Spectrum Analysis.

And we'll see just how Nick at Nite is doing. Amen.

Now the Dingbat is Singing. Yep its time for All In The Family. Let's watch it together as I retrieve the Nick at Nite Report.

Be back in a flash.

Not to single-out anybody in particular, but this comment seemed to sum up the sentiment of many.

Why did it take a commercial for people to realize that N@N reinvented itself? I appreciate that they finally explained the new image in more precise language.

It's been obvious to me, for some time now, that N@N is a different kind of channel than it once was. All in the Family is the only show I watch on N@N, but I'm not going to waste time and energy complaining about it. I've accepted that N@N changed since I first watched it in '91 (or '92, I forget) and don't understand why people act like N@N was doing something they weren't "supposed" to do. (You know, like getting in the "10 Items or Less" line with 12 items in your basket. )

Add a huge ol ditto to that. I really do NOT mind the fact Nick is showing 80s shows, but it's LATE 80s and mid 90s. What about the early 80s? Maybe they'll get back to that...? doubt it. I also wouldn't really mind the network if they stopped the early evening double takes. I will admit, I'm glad they are showing Cheers. Honestly, I may not be all that thrilled with the show, but it's 20 years old, and never had a cable home (or did it? nope, I'm still surprised TBS never picked it up). The Cosby Show is played every where else, I mean, if WGN and TBS stopped airing it, I would stop my complaining, LOL. I'm pretty sure when Roseanne, Wings (hopefully it's still coming), and Full House come on, no doubt Cosby Cheers and Coach will be treated just as badly as Family Ties, Three's Company & All in the Family. I say enjoy it while you can.

Hopefully they add Night Court and Murphy Brown in a few years, that I would definitely like.

It's a good thing that it still exists because it's "The Place for TV Hits". Hopefully they'll add more sitcoms within 10 yrs. from now.

A friend of mine and I have discussed this topic at length. We grew up watching the Classic Nick at Nite, which started at 8 PM and ended at 6 AM.

Our mutual opinion? Nick at Nite's current lineup sucks.

Personally, I don't watch N@N anymore. Nothing on there that interests me. And their future shows hold even less interest for me. But, no use complaining about it... there's always TV Land.

Now, if they start messing up TV Land, that's when it's complaint time.
