In the episode where Lamont and Crystal are getting married,Lamont is talking to Fred at the church and he makes the remark that he wasn't going to throw his life away like Harry Belafonte!!! Just wondered what he meant by that!!!

I believe that Lamont was saying something to the effect of "I'm not Harry Belafonte, I'm Lamont Sanford, a lousy junk dealer from the ghetto".
He was saying this to Fred to say that he wasn't exactly what a girl would consider a prize. So he was going to go through with the marriage even though he probably didn't know a whole lot about Crystal. |
