ok, I know I ask alot about comp help lol, But if anyone can help me with this I would REALLY appreciate it... A good friend asked me and i have no clue...and i even searched all around but cant find ANYTHING, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!
"some time ago we downloaded "internet explorer 6" from Microsoft website it was an update..after we did we lost the capacity to RECEIVE attachments on emails ( other than jpg)..at the time we did not connect the 2 events..but recently when we had another cable modem problem they were working on fixing it ( the guys at the tech desk) and the had us UNINSTALL I.E. and go back to IE 5- we got back the ability to receive attachments..... now we need to update to IE 6 because ebay is discontinuing the " seller's assistant" we use to put our auctions on and changing to " turbo lister" which we need to have I.E. in order to download.... we hesitate to do it as we hate to loose the attachment ability but need to in order to do the auctions.... we figure there is something we NEED to do when we download I.E. so we do not loose the attachments possibility but we have NO idea what it is.." Thanks again for ANY help! |

You can try this. Open outlook express and under tools open options. Click on the security tab and see if the box that says Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus is checked. If it is uncheck this box and you will be able to open attachments to your email. I had the same problem and this worked for me. I leave this box checked unless I know who the attachment is from then I uncheck this box and recheck it after I open up my email. I hope this helps.

Thanks blackbeard! For the last few weeks since changing email providers iv'e been unable to open attachments. I actually deleted a bunch of the attachment emails so i'd have extra memory. I wish I had kept them now because I just tested out one of the few attachments I saved after doing what you suggested and i'm now able to open them. Thanks again, it is greatly appreciated!!!
