Don't you guys agree? I mean it was like a horror movie...Wasn't the haunted one the "West" wing?

Erm well there are soap opera overtones throughout the series, especially the first few storylines before Barnabas arrived and from what I've read, the last storyline taking place in parellel time in 1841.
The entire house was haunted, which I loved. The West Wing was haunted by the ghosts of Quentin Collins and Beth Chavez in late 1968/early 1969. |

I don't like when 'Dark Shadows' is said to be a soap opera. It's way awesome! It's like the neverending horror movie to me. That's what makes it good.

I consider it to be a soap opera because:
1) It's most popular timeslot was 4:00pm (eastern), Monday through Friday. 2) If you missed one episode, you would probably be clueless when watching the next episode. 3) It had an enormously large cast. It's a soap opera, it was always meant to be a soap opera, even though fans say it's horror. What's so wrong if it's a soap opera? People act as if the world is gonna be on fire because it's a soap opera......... |

well, not really but...w/e. -- we just don't consider it a soap opera. I believe in the beginning it was supposed to be a soap opera like all the others. But, Dan Curtis saw that it wasn't working. So he revamped it in a way... And it turned into a daily suspense show.

Let's just say it was a serialized horror show that ran in the daytime, Monday-Friday
