As soon as I can buy a recordable DVD player, that is. Sorry about that.
I'll probably be boiled in oil for that one, but I couldn't resist. Actually, I've probably devoted as much interspace time to this topic as anyone. I really do wish some company would put it out on DVD, but I'm not holding my breath for a release in the near future. It looks like the only way we will get the show on DVD is to buy our own DVD recorders and tape it off TV or VHS. I really do plan on buying a DVD recorder soon, but they are still a little too expensive for my tastes (I haven't seen them for less than $600 yet). I don't have a DVD player, so I can't record it on DVD. But I did record almost every episode on a VHS tape. I still need a few more eps, though.

Sorry guys and gals. I know that was cruel & unusual punishment. Believe me when I tell you that no one wants this show on DVD more than me! I visit the TV Shows on DVD web site once a week hoping beyond hope that one day I'll hear some good news about LITB. And each week I get more and more frustrated when I see all these BRAND NEW SHOWS coming out on DVD in season sets. It's ridiculous!!
I'd say the ratio of shows being released on DVD from the 90's up to 2002 as compared to shows in the 50's and 60's is about 50 to 1. It's really lopsided, and very frustrating to people like me who love the olders shows and couldn't give a flip about the garbage that passes for legit entertainment today on the networks. Oh well, next year I plan on purchasing my DVD recorder (I already own a DVD player - these are really cheap now) and I'll transfer all the episodes onto DVD to preserve them from further decay (VHS tapes don't hold up very long, IMHO). It won't be the same as having a studio put them out, commercial free and uncut, but it will be better than nothing. l Everyone have a great holiday, and please forgive me. ![]() B&W "my only regret with the entire series is that they never did a Christmas episode" fan |
