Did anyone notice in the beginning that Larry and Beaver aren't really friends in the beginning? How did they become friends?

Probably the producers noticed that Rusty Stevens, who played Larry, was a better actor than most of Beaver's other friends.

gilbert and beaver didnt become friends right off as well. but dont know how they became friends cant remember been awhile since ive seen the episode
