I must admit that when Becker first came out, I didn't think I'd enjoy it. I knew of the Cheers curse and I didn't think it would last long or be good. I avoided it for the first year or two. Well, one night during the 2nd or 3rd season, I was taking a little break from writing a term paper and I had the TV on in the background. Becker came on and I was watching a few minutes of it. I'm like "Man, this is funny!" and I watched the whole episode. It was the one when Becker tries to watch a movie, I think. I've been hooked ever since. I was even starting to look more forward to Becker than Everybody Loves Raymond on Monday nights. (I've always loved ELR, but it's starting to get a little stale, IMHO.) I think it's still one of the better sitcoms on TV.
On a side note, doesn't it seem that once a TV star has a long-running, hit series, it's hard for them to have another one? I don't see other people from Cheers having another hit TV show, except for Kelsey Grammer. No one from Wings or Seinfeld has had one yet either. |

About the third episode in the first season I think. I liked it a lot. I'd still like to see the first couple of episodes some time.

I watched it from the first season.
I could tell it was a little rough around the edges, but I liked what I saw. It just got better season after season. But this year I have missed most of the episodes due to football on CBS and going against The Simpsons. I'm not thrilled with Chris replacing Reggie but I haven't gotten a chance to give her character a chance. If Becker goes back to Monday I'll watch it every week. That new show Still Standing is a pretty weak, contrived, been there sitcom. Bring Becker Back To Monday. |
