How come Clarence lets Wally call him Lumpy and not Beaver?

Maybe it was because Wally and Lumpy were kind of close in age so it was just a nickname. When Beaver says it, Lumpy must think that Beaver is wise cracking on him or something.

That's how I see it-Beaver is the younger one-so Lumpy will pick on the Beaver more than he does Wally-besides, the show is called Leave it to Beaver .
