Very wierd. I dont like the show but the worst part is the way they have it written (narrated) by one of the characters as though she is a writer of the show. I feel like I' m supposed to be a fool simply because a girl with breasts--as though that were unusuall--is telling the story.

I've never really seen Sex in the City. I've heard a bunch of talk about the show, but I've never seen. It doesn't seem like something I'd want to watch. Also, they moved HBO to another station and I'd have to get digital cable in order to get it.

Personally, I have never been a fan of the show. Sometimes I have laughed at the jokes, but for the most part I have never seen the appeal.
Overrated is the word I'm looking for, I guess. |

I do really like the show, it's not just about sex there is a lot more to it than that, I think of it as a Drama series that happens to feature sex.
I know a lot of people who think it's bad but personally I do enjoy it. |

It makes me laugh, cry, even blush at times. It's a dark comedy with more emphasis on drama. It was sad watching Carrie go through her breakups with Big and Aiden or Charlotte when she got divorced....or Miranda dealing with the loss of her mother and single motherhood. We even got to see that Samantha isn't made of stone and can have her heart broken too. The premise of 4 single women living in New York makes for many interesting and exciting storylines. I've always loved a narrative voiceover in movies or television. Sex and The City has quality writing. I love the show. |

I know people like the show, and Janice stated pretty well why. But for some reason, and it has little to do with the sexual content, try as I have several tiimes, I don't care for the characters. I'm put off by their conversations around the restaraunt table. And those conversations are supposed to endear them to us and give the characters personalities that we can get into. Obviously, for many, that's what has happened. Granted, I haven't watched enough of the shows to follow the story lines that Janice mentioned, so some of the what's what and who's who is lost on me. But some of the episodes I have watched lacked a realism that I think they were trying to achieve. |

Does anyone know if the show is, according to some survey, more popular with women than it is with men?
