Question I need some advice

I just got an E-mail from this girl I used to be friends with in middle and high school. She wants to invite me to a Christmas party she's having to get all the kids from our class together. The problem is that some of her other friends were not the kindest people in the world to me and I had to stop hanging out with her because the abuse from them was too much for me to take. I still feel the emotional effects from years of constant bullying from my classmates and I tried to cut as many ties as pssible when I left for college.

Should I let bygones be bygones and go to the party, or should I keep these people out of my life for good?

Maybe these people have changed, or if not maybe you should just go to be with the friend that sent you the email..

I would go to the party to see if any of your classmates have matured as well as to please your friend. If they haven't and they are still teasing you then walk out of the party and tell your friend later why you left the party. Hopefully, your friend will understand. If she doesn't and throws like a big fit about it than it is her problem.

Hmm. Interesting quandry.

As Doc Crane said, maybe some of these folks have changed over time.
You certainly would be the bigger person if you went to the party and showed the jerks who bullied you that you have grown into a bright mature person dispite their idiotic taunting.

Anyway, go to the party and pay your respects to your friend. And be nice to the jerks, You're better than them.

If it was me (don't be like me, k? ) I'd go and act like the biggest egotist that ever lived, subtle though, and make them feel bad. I enjoy making jerks feel bad.

Thanks for the advice, guys

I guess I'll go after all. There should be some people there who I did get along with in high school that I haven't seen since graduation. I would like to see them. If the people who were jerks to me then are still jerks to me now, I guess that just shows what type of people they are.

Go and have a great time! Spend time with your friend and talk of old times. The others have probably matured over the years. You may even get a big, whopping apology from them. If not, treat them well anyway. When you leave the party, you can get on with your life. It's just one night after all. Good luck!

It would be interesting to see how it goes.

I'm glad you decided to go, Kristen. As everyone else has been saying, they've probably matured. If those people are still the jerks they used to be, then they have some serious growing up to do. Good luck and I hope you have fun!
