Lightbulb Brady Logic and Wisdom in Grid Structure

2 Faithful Listeners made some very important points that I could comment on regarding the Brady Bunch Lifestyle and how it works from within. This is such a major part of Brady Bunch that the Usenet will get to read this in its entirety. Amen. For it IS Wisdom for All Nations, Tongues, and Kindreds.

I had commented in a topic that though Robert Reed might have "hated" the Brady Bunch somewhat, it had to be mentioned that Mike Brady was always centered on Brady Grid and the Lifestyle. The faithful listener then said this Rhema Word (for God caused pure oxygen to be breathed in & carbon dioxide to be breathed out of James). And Rhema of course means "God Breathed". Amen.

Actually, Mike was in the bottom center square of the grid. Alice was in the center square (what I thought you meant by the words "centered on Brady Grid"), Carol in the top center, Marcia, Jan, and Cindy down the left column, and Greg, Peter, and Bobby down the right column.

Now I decided to comment on Grid Structure. Begin:

I should have said Mike was 'devoted' to Brady Bunch or Brady Grid, meaning his life was into or 'centered' on the Brady Bunch lifestyle, but you do have a point.

So for all people out there, here's a breakdown of Brady Grid Positioning by Grid Structure and by the Role they played on the show. This is Revelation Knowledge that you can use.

Let's begin with:

Alice: As "center center", Alice is right in the middle of the Brady Grid for good reason. She was 'center' both in Grid and Structure of the Brady House. For she was responsible in the areas of maintenance, preparing meals, cleaning, some Grid psychology (sometimes talking to kids or Brady Parents), some security when available (answering the door), serving where needed, being on 24 Hour Call for Emergencies (she was Brady Grid Disaster Coordinator), preserving discipline (by telling on the kids), trip consultant (for she went on all Brady Trips to assist Brady Bunch), that sort of thing. Typically when Alice was 'off center' or in other words unable to function in Grid Activities, the Brady House would be chaotic for a time (with one famous ep having her cousin Emma replacing her and doing military style drills!). Her role was outstanding in this regard in preserving the Grid and its Constituents and is considered irreplacable in the Brady Legacy by Law. Amen. Her position in Brady Land is so important that she is a Controller and VP Brady Grid Member Emeritus. AND THEREFORE is a 'center' (in the famous Grid) and 'center' (in Brady Structure). Hence the term "center center". Got that? Goody.

And briefly, Mike and Carol were "center" in the other 2 slots of Grid like you mentioned + as Brady Parents, they ran the show together with the "center center" Alice (or her replacements Emma and Kay) reporting to them directly with 24 Hour Call in Emergencies (though most of the time, Brady Life was Condition Stable). Mike of course (this is debatable) ran the business of the Brady House, the finances, breadwinning, major repairs, major decisions (Sell the Brady House?), architecture, that sort of thing. Carol ran the more family aspects of Brady House (with Mike) in all things pertaining to Brady Kids. And Alice ran the rest. So in a nutshell, you have 3 'centers' each important in their own way. 3 CEOs' if you will. But in Brady Land there must be order and logic in positioning. You can't have too many chiefs and not enough Indians. So here it is:

The Brady Bunch Chart of Positions and Influence

-Alice is primary "center center". Her role is vital. Without her, Brady Bunch would Never Work at All. Therefore, she is a VP Brady Grid Member Emeritus with direct connections to the House of President Schwartz. As Brady Grid Controller and VP Brady Grid Member Emeritus, her and her lineage by proxy will have Paramount Grid Benefits which includes a seat on the Board of Directors and other favors. However, she reports to Mike and Carol within the TV Show(s) as they are the CEOs of Brady House, for which in exchange Alice will get the 'other favors' that were mentioned. The 'other favors' have to do with belonging, of being a part of the family, of loving. This is what makes Alice so tight with Brady Bunch. And one line says it all as to how much power Alice had in Brady Bunch or Brady Grid:

Alice will kill you. Let's move on.

-Mike and Carol are secondary "centers". Both have complete authority over Brady Grid as Brady Parents & CEOs with 2 seats on the Brady Bunch Board of Directors and Direct Connections to House of President Schwartz. Alice, being a Controller/VP Brady Grid Member Emeritus, will report to them for Grid Duty. But being that Sherwood Schwartz is Ultimate Final Authority over All That Is Brady, and Alice having a Primary Link to The House of Schwartz, they (Mike and Carol) have a cooperative within the corporate structure as it relates to their relationship with the Controller/VP Brady Grid Member Emeritus (Alice). They work together in other words. This position gets Paramount Grid Benefits with a 10 % reduction for Robert Reed and his lineage by proxy (he clashed with Sherwood) and a 10 % reduction for Carol and her lineage by proxy (for what DID she do all day but run Alice ragged?).

-Brady Kids complete the Grid as 'sides'. The 'sides' are to report to the CEOs and Brady Parents Mike and Carol as well as the Controller Alice, not to mention Sherwood Schwartz. This is a big responsibility not to be taken lightly as millions of American kids are counting on them to be role models. There is to be ABSOLUTE OBEDIANCE to the Middle Grid at ALL TIMES! This position is on a Limited Paramount Benefit Plan for a few seasons and then the full package activates for them and their lineage by proxy by the year 1974 (when the series ends). Amen. The full package will include 2 seats on Brady Grid Board of Directors (1 Boy and 1 Girl).

-1st wave of 'Off Grid Support' includes Sam, Mr. Phillips, Essentials like Family Doctors, Family Teachers, or Family Food. Brady Kid Friends, Brady Parent Friends, Alice Friends. Anyone that provided essential services for Brady Bunch, from Major Players like Sam or Minor Players like Lennie Bremen the Exterminator. Limited Paramount Benefits but 1 seat on Board of Directors (usually Sam is nominated).

-2nd wave of 'Celebrity Off Grid Support'. A special package is marked for them, as written in Bylaw 2.01 (a),(b),(c) of The Brady Grid Corporate Handbook.

-3rd wave of 'Minor Off Grid Support' like Jerry Rogers or Tank Gates; those that merely "passed by" the Brady Household. They may get a few bucks here and there.

-Finally, there's Cousin Oliver. His role in Brady Bunch is most unique and requires delicate handling. Paramount Benefits with No Grid Mention and a special reference to the producers of Mary Tyler Moore (he needed the work).

Amen.

And the Brady Grid Summary:

7 Seats on Board of Directors

Each with one vote

In the event of a tie, the chairman decides it.

1 for Sherwood Schwartz (Chairman)
2 for Mike and Carol (CEO/Parents)
1 for Alice (Controller/Housekeeper)
1 for Boys (Greg)
1 for Girls (Marcia)
1 for Off Grid Support 1st Wave (Sam)

Righteous man.
