Question Martial Arts

I know that Freddie was interested in self-defense. What style did he study? Karate? Kung-fu? Was it just something he did to have a little fun, or was he very serious about it?

I think It was Karate--not quite sure. If I'm wrong someone will correct me... He had a Karate outfit-- don't know what belt he was tho. He tokk it because some strange men were staling him & there was a death threat on him. I think he took it as a young boy for dealing with bullies but took it up again after the death threats. The nite he died he had on his favorite Karate pants supposedly...

I may be wrong. But I find this attire on that fateful night very symbolic.
Perhaps he thought to himself, "I've been fighting all my life. I'm tired. I can't fight anymore."
