Post New Freddie Movie :)

I was looking last nite in BOOKS-A-MILLION at a few teen magazine with Freddie JR in them.

In one of them it said there is gonna be a new movie on Freddie Sr & there are rumors that Jr will play him in it. They asked him if he was gonna play his dad in it. He said he wasn't approached to be in it but if he was he wouldn't cuz it was too personal a subject for him.

This is great there will be a new movie out on our Prinze! I just hope it does him justice & they portray him right. Whoever plays him won't be as cute as him. Dime to a dollar says they'll do the typical & get a Tony Orlando look-a-like. Hopefully this will bring our guy back into the limelight again... I can't wait to see it!

& They also asked him if seeing how his dad was made him decide to not be like that. He said that no cuz that was the 70's & this was 2001. Guess he's a typical kid who thinks his folks lived in the old timey days LOL! Yeah, I went thru that too!

& There was an article on him marrying Sarah Michelle Gellar. That one made me sad cuz I realized his dad will never get to see him marry...

So it's a good idea to look at articles on Pie cuz ya never know if he'll mention his hot dad! Wow, now the dads are hot now. Never thought I'd be old enough where the dads were hot instead of the kid...

Cheryl! I am really excited to hear this news! Thank-You so much for passing this on. Please keep us posted on any updates. I can't wait to see this one. Will it be a made for t.v. movie or for the big screen? Have they decided yet? I agree with you and sincerely hope that they portray him fairly and respectfully. Also, you are right, this will help keep Freddie, Sr. in the limelight where he belongs. A talent and greatness like his should never be forgotten. Wonderful news!

Question

I just had a thought. I hope they choose someone good to play the part of Freddie, Sr. However, at the end of the movie, I hope they will show some actual clips of him in CATM and other appearances when he performed his stand-up comedy routines.
What do you guys think?

FREDDIE FOREVER!

Thumbs up

I agree, I hope it does not end the way the other movie of his life did! But I can imagine it will be very difficult to find any actor with the looks and versatility to play our Freddie! As has been pointed out on another thread here, none of us has ever seen anyone else who looks like him, and I can't think of anybody today with his ability to do comedy, impressions, and sing and dance. Putting all that together in one actor will be a big challenge for any casting director!

I am so glad to hear of this too! There really needs to be a new movie or story on him. There is so much left out. Maybe some people will see him in a different light instead of, Oh he's the one that shot himself on drugs. There are so many more facts now. Lets hope they portray him better. Hooray for Freddie!!!!

I kind of wish someone, who is reputable, would do a documentary on Freddie. Because there is no one I can think of to play him adequately. Plus, a movie denotes entertainment. I don't really want that. Because under this heading, they are allowed to take artistic liberties for dramatic effect. His story is so tragic and should not be used to misrepresent him, just to garner high ratings.

I would like them to use actual footage and still photos. They could speak to people like his Mom and others who really cared about him. They could tell the positive aspects of his life along with the troubles that hurt him so deeply.

I would like it to be an indictment on Hollywood and others who contributed to his demise. And a lesson to everyone else as to how to treat those that we love, not bully them, not desert them, not use them.

But, I guess my idea would not work, because under my premise, they would have to interview certain individuals that I truly do not wish to hear from.

So I guess my idea goes on the scrap heap! Does anyone understand though?

I just don't want him hurt anymore.

Woah that is pretty cool there is gonna be a new Freddie movie i cant wait. I heard Freddie Jr talk about his father before when he was on the Howard Stern Radio Show and he was asked some questions about his father and his death. He wasnt bashed or anything i do think when they where taking calls from fans some idiot said something stupid to Freddie Jr like are u gonna blow your head off like your dad but the caller was hung up on right away before he finished his sentence but you could tell what the caller was gonna say. This was last summer when he was out promoting the movie Boys and Girls with himself and Jason Biggs of American Pie fame.

Atlangel, I understand completely what you are saying. I don't know if I could handle another movie. I have seen enough of the tragedy of the end of his life to last me forever. I would also like to see a documentary celebrating his life and work, and not dwelling on his death. I could handle discussion of his problems with the drugs and his youthful fame, but I think you would have a hard time finding some one who would treat his life with the dignity and respect it deserves. What I have seen done so far doesn't give us much hope for that does it? Maybe if some one who respected the person he was would come forward and do it, we could get behind it 100%. As much as I love all things Freddie, I have had a hard time with what had been done so far about his life. Inacurate and conflicting at best and down right lies at its worst. Wasn't there anyone, besides his mother, who knew the real Freddie and loved him like we do that could do this for his fans? I pray that there is and they take up the challenge!

If there is to be another movie about Freddie, I sincerely hope Freddie Jr., Maria, and even Kathy stand up to whoever is producing it and NOT allow him to be portrayed inaccurately and all in a negative way!

I hope they do him accurately. I would love to see the movie simply out of curiosity whichis why I bid & bought & am waiting on the CAN YOU HEAR THE LAUGHTER movie. It'll be hard to watch but I am soo curious. I wish they would portray him accurately...

I'd love to see a documentary on him with film clips of him emphasizing the good & happy stuff.
