You know how there's helmets for bikes when you fall down and you're okay if you fall with it on (u may get a few bruises) What if they make car helmets? Chances are if a person has a helmet on and there is an accident, there may be a chance you can survive. I don't know about you guys, but I'm thinking of doing that when I get my driver's permit. I don't know if a helmet would get in the way, but I'm just letting you know.
What do you think?

What I mean is that it took a long time for people to start wearing helmets when they were riding bikes and motorcycles. I think if car helmets were implemented, it would take a long time for people to start accepting them as a form of protection. I think the seat belts protect people more. The problem is that some, if not most, people don't like to wear seatbelts and they pay the price when their car crashes and they get seriously hurt.

Its safe, but how many people would wear them? Most people driving need to be somewhere (school, work, party, etc) so it would mess up their hair and stuff. Itd be a hassle.

I think it would look a little narnie-ish to drive down the road with a helmet on. LOL

That would be kind of unusual if people wore helmets in their cars. But, it's a cool idea, though.
I'm trying to imagine car accident commercials with dummies wearing helmets.

I think car helmets are a good idea, but would people really go for it? It sounds like such a hassle. I personally think seat belts and safe driving are the best ways to prevent serious injury.
On another note, you know the black boxes that always survive the airplane crash? Why the heck don't they make the whole airplane out of the same material? |

Because airplanes are SO big it would take TONS of money and would make the planes too heavy to fly,

it might be safer but id never wear one...
first off it would look sooo stupid (i refuse to go to the prom in a limo, with a helmet on!) and most importantly..im not going to spend an hour or more on my hair only to ruin it with a helmet! |

That would just be another excuse for the police to harass people
We have enough nuisance laws now! NO MORE! By the way, I ALWAYS wear my seat belt!

In a car, you have a lot of advantages that you don't have on a bike or motorcycle - first, you have a lot of metal surrounding you to provide protection. Also, you have seatbelts and airbags for additional protection. I know it sounds corny, but seatbelts really do save lives! |
