That is one of my all-time favorite television episodes

I wish the reruns aired somewhere. My local WB affiliate used to show it at night and early in the morning, but they apparently decided that we should watch shows like Friends and Suddenly Susan instead

Is it true that some of that scene was ad libbed and stretched out longer because the audience reacted so strongly to it?

I believe it is. I heard that the director (Can't remember his name now!) said he wasn't going to yell "Cut!" until the audience stopped laughing, so Christopher Lloyd and Jeff Conaway had to keep it going until they did. I also read that Marilu Henner had to keep stabbing herself in the hand with a pencil just to keep from breaking up during that scene. LOL. That must've been difficult!
