When did they stop taping them live? On the ending credits it has always said how it was taped before an audience. However in Landmark 1 there is no audience or even a laugh track. You just here laughter from the crew. I thought I had heard some one say that they stopped after the 2nd season. But I don't know if that is true or not. If it is true, I have a theory of why they stopped. Before an episode it was mentioned that Steve Landesburg had a hard time keeping a staight face. You could see that in Landmark 1 he smiled when the crew laughed at his jokes. So maybe if there was a whole group of people laughing he would always be cracking up, and the producers thought it would be more productive to cut out the audience. It's just a theory though. Does any one know the real reason and when they did stop?

I think it was after the 3rd season that they stopped taping live. And I thought I heard that they did this because during some of the more serious moments, the audience reaction could be too unpredictable. But Steve Landesberg does seem to start to laugh after his jokes sometimes...
