Question After looking at this site....

I really can't help but wonder, if Freddie Prinze knew how loved he was by so many people, would it have stopped him from taking his own life?

Hey Rob,
I have wondered the same thing many times.
I have read Freddie's mother's book the freddie prinze story three times so far and I got the impression that in the last monthes of his life he felt all alone.
In fact Freddie spent his last Christmas alone in a hotel drinking cola and watching tv(after giving a magazine interview.)
What a sad way for someone so loved to spend a special holiday. He should have been with his family for his son's first Christmas.
I think people have the impression that celebrities have it made and are surrounded by people all the time. It's really sad.
In the E true bio program of Freddie his wife Kathy states that she could have talked him out of killing himself. I sure wish someone would have.
Like Ed said in the episode when his friend Joe Harrigan died,"if you love someone tell them, don't wait until it's too late."

Hello Rob:
Thank you for making such a sweet observation. I am so glad that others can sense the love imminating from those of us here for Freddie. I agree with you and Joy that if he had only known, I believe he would have found the strength to hold on and work through the problems that tortured him so. I am afraid that he felt totally alone, despondent, and hopeless. I think he was in excrutiating physical and emotional pain and just could not see his way anymore.
Thank you for giving us your positive perception.

Wonderful question Rob. If he knew how much he was loved he may of had second thoughts about ending it all,but he needed people to care about Freddie, not the performer, the young man.

That is sooo sad how he spent his last Christmas all alone. So sad... It just breaks my heart... Seems to me he would've gone to his parents for the holidays.

It's so sad... Poor dear! I better quit writing this before I start leaking all over the computer keyboard...

Rob,
Hi! I believe that if Freddie had known how many people loved him that he would have had second thoughts and turned his life around. Some of us feel that there was a reason for all of us to come together here and at the other Freddie sites. There was literally nothing on the web about Freddie just a few short months back. Now it booms with pics, info and devotion for him. Somehow, it seems as if he now knows just how much he is still loved.
Happy Birthday Freddie!!

Rob - How sweet of you to see that Freddie did have lots of fans and friends. He was always loved but, sadly he left us.

If only they would have had computers back in the 70's like they do today. F.P. would be able to check things like this message board and his web-sites out and see just how many people loved and respected him and his
acting. I know I would have loved to have a computer back then to talk daily with all you special caring and loving people. I felt absolutely clueless as to where to turn to for support back then. I wanted to read all I could read about him and talk to other people who were feeling the sadness I was feeling. There was NOTHING available. Just a few little articles in the Enquirer or the newspaper for just a short peroid of time.
My computer is like going back in time for me to heal and complete my mourning for Freddie. I am Kathy's age and I sometimes feel ridiculous for still having this attraction for him but I think my feelings layed dormant in me for all these years until the computer, tv-land and this message board all became available and now I can express myself through my computer.
Does any of this make sense?????
Happy Birthday Dear Freddie.

CatCopy18, your feelings make perfect sense. I can really relate to the way you feel. I'm sure others do as well. Back when the tragedy occurred I had no one to talk to that understood the hurt and pain I felt. Even today, if it were not for this great message board and all of you, I would not have anyone to open up with on this. That is why for so many reasons I am grateful for all of you. It really helps me to come here and read the feelings and thoughts of each of you.
I understand exactly how you feel and feel the same way. But I always remind myself that LOVE has no boundaries of time or space. Regardless of how many years pass, that love will endure. If it is the real thing, it is forever. So don't be hard on yourself because you are obviously a caring, sensitive and fantastic lady to have a love like you describe so deeply entrenched in your heart. Honor it and revel in it. Some unfortunate ones are so wrapped up in self that they do not even know what it is like to really love someone else. LOVE is the greatest gift we have to bestow on another. When all is said and done, (as evidenced here by Freddie's life) all that lasts is the Love we gave and received.

I am so greatful for this board too. mentioning what was available to share and read about Freddie at the time of his death,
the enquirer and the globe. Couyld just as well be nothing. They lie and print halve truthes and focus on the negative. That's why this place is so important. Everyone here tries to focus and remember the good, the talent, the laughter.
