Question If you could live one season with the Keaton's......

Which season would you choose? I would have to go with season 1. The show seemed to focus more on just the 5 main characters in the first couple seasons, and it would be nice to spend some nice quality family time with the Keaton's. I think around the third or fourth season the show started becoming a little less about family as everyone started to blossom a bit and kind of go there own way. Also all the extra guests on the show in the later years would have made it less comfortable for me. So what about you all? If you could all magically enter yourself in one season of Family Ties which season would you choose, and why?

Default Season, eh?

Well, If I had to stay one season with the keatons, it would have to be the 1985-1986 season, because it became more exciting and more daring when Nick and Ellen both came along. At least it got Alex and Mallory doing more than just arguing with each other and Jennifer at least had some sense of sanity (she always do in SOME situations).

Before, Nick was added, before MJF let fame go to his head and think that the show was suddenly his, before Andy, Ellen, Lauren, etc. What their parents thought meant more to them in the early seasons. They seemed less self-centered in the first season. There was cute little Jennifer, Mallory who was sweet, and Alex who seemed to care(at least to an extent) about things other than money. While that was still important to him, his money obssession only intensified as the years went on. I would never want to be in the seasons that had Nick in them.
I actually really liked Nick. I think he was a great character, and the perfect boyfriend for Mallory. He was really kind, and even though he had many faults he really seemed to love Mallory. I don't think i'd mind hanging out with Nick. I think Skippy would have been just as good of a boyfriend for Mallory, but I thought Nick and her made a great couple. Also I don't think Michael ever let the fame go to his head. As most people know the show was originally intended to be focused on Elyse, and Steven, but judging by all the fan mail, and fanfare that MJF received it was basically the fans that decided the direction of the show. I saw an interview one time with Michael Gross and he said MJF was never anything but gracious, and had no special treatment by the creators of the show. I do think that the creators should have focused more on the other characters, but unfortunately in the end the fans decide, and they wanted more Fox. Aside from those couple things I agree with what you said.
