Since today is Freddie's birthday I would like to ask a question,If you could, what gift would you give to Freddie on his special day?
I'd cook a special dinner, candlelight(he liked candlelight),maybe read shakespere or poems while listening to soft music and just visit. I'd like to give him time to relax,be himself and enjoy life. I sure wish i could have met him I'm sure we could have been friends. |

Joy, thanks for another great topic. I like your response.
I would love to rent an oceanside beach house, unplug all the telephones, have some nice music playing on the stereo. I would cook a wonderful meal for him and just listen to him speak about anything and everything he wanted to. Then at the end of the evening, I would like to walk hand-in-hand with him along the water's edge. I would then point out how beautiful life can be and that yes, we all have trials, but if you have love and peace of mind, we will get through it and become better individuals through the tough times. And that he would find it is worth it to hold on, somehow. Not to take his beautiful spirit away from those who love and need him so much. That we are all a part of each other, thus we need each other to be complete. Lastly, I would simply wrap my arms around him, hold him, and wish that moment would last for eternity. FREDDIE FOREVER! |

I would make him a huge home cooked meal. Spanish style the way his mom cooked for him. He would tell me what he would want and I would just cook it for him.
Then we would have a good talk. Seeing we both were living in the 70's we'd probably would talk about the 60's and 70's. Also we would talk about our children. Fred Jr. and my own children.

This would be an unusual gift indeed, but I would give him the opportunity to go back in time to that fateful day in his young life when he said yes to taking drugs for the first time and attempt, in my own humble way, to talk him out of it. Maybe if I could have convinced him not to start, he would be here today to celebrate his birthday with all of us. That would be my gift!

I could think of a gazillion things I'd like to do for his birthday
but I think he would like to have a good home-cooked meal and then relax and watch some of his son's movies. I think he'd get a real kick out of that. Then after that...who knows? He'd think of something...hehehe.

Luckymama,
I have to say that I love all the ideas here but That has got to be the very best. I;m sure you could have convinced him not to do drugs too(what a joyous thought) |
