Default Ketchup Freeze

Does anyone know how Potsie made that ketchup freeze in one of the eps in the first season? It's my friend's bday tomorrow, so....hee hee (evil smile).

As far as I could tell, he just poured ketchup in shaved ice. I remember he didn't have money for an actual drink or anything, so he used ice and ketchup and just mixed them together.

Thanks for the recipe! And as for my friend, she started it! She loudly screamed curse words down the hall and when the principal appeared, guess who ran down the steps and guess who was left behind to face his wrath? I'm just gonna tell her it's cranberry juice. I know cranberry juice is a deeper red, but our diner is horrible. Oh, and I intend on lacing it with vinegar, lemon juice and baking powder/soda. Yes, I know what happens when you mix vinegar and baking powder/soda, but the ketchup will stall it from happening till she has it in her mouth....hee hee. Revenge!

And how much did malts cause back then? I love watching it when Richie says that $2.50 is too much to pay. Now we're lucky if the drink is under $2.50, the meal itself will go over $10. Why have times changed...

I miss the 5 cent gum days...now it's 65 cents for a 5 stick pack of Winterfresh. Our economy isn't going so well and I wouldn't want to spend so much on gum. I know that sounds ridiculous, but why take chances...anyway, conversation is getting too serious. This is why we need to live in the fifties. Everything seemed so much more...simpler.

I know! A candy bar cost 10C Back then! Now it's like 1.25! Life was so much simpler back then..

While she was dramatically crying over her "suprise party" (she knew about it before we did and we came up with the idea!), she asked me to get her a drink because her throat was getting dry and she was speechless (hah! she was blubbering away to glory). Instead of quipping about how she can swallow her tears, I grabbed the cup, filled it up with ice and poured in the ketchup, baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice...etc. She grabbed it and gulped down the entire thing. As she was telling everyone that she was dehydrated, she thought she should at least carry out her performance by dramatically swallowing the entire cup. Then...it sorta became like a breeching whale .Her mouth started to bulge slightly and she began to lurch forward. Then came the ash (i.e. spittings of foam as it started to fill up her entire mouth). She lurched forward and backward and her mouth really bulged. And just as I said, "Thar She Blows", she lurched forward and this glorious spray of red gunk and foam came sputtering out of mouth and splashed all over the window. People screamed, people ran to see the site. It was beautiful. I could hear opera music as she spit it all up. Then what happened? Oooh, suspense. Well, obviously she knew it was me. So she picked up some of her cake and chucked it at me. I picked up the whipped cream and sprayed it at her. We both started giggling and we did this whole "handshake neutrality thing" I had barely left her hand when she sprayed mustard on my shirt (Black!!! it was black!!!!), so i picked the nearest thing (tar tar sauce) and poured it down her shirt. And if anyone drove past the diner, you could have seen a bunch of kids walking around in the cold covered in food because they had been kicked out of the diner. As I write this, I have cake dripping on the keyboard. Oh, look...there goes some mustard. All and all....IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to relate this to Happy Days, right after we were kicked out, she turned to the owner and said, "your fish is horrible. It will never sell! Yep, yep, yep!"
.....Then we were told never to return to the fine institution, but we know this guy well. In one week, we will bring pie and he will forgive us.
