Post Freddies temperment

I was just wondering what kind of temperment Freddie had. When he was high was he swift to anger? Did he have a short fuse in general. Or was he easy going, and very rarely lost his temper? I know he hated injustice if any kind and that probably got him really mad. Please check his moms book and let me know, those of you who are lucky enough to have it. thanks.

I don't know him so I really don't knwo how he was. My take from reading her book & other stuff on him is that he was very sweet & loving boy & adored his mother. But like most folks he got upset about stuff sometimes. I think the drugs made him act differently. You can see him in pictures with his Mama & he looks so happy. You could tell he adored her. I think he needed to move back in with his Mama after Kathy split up with him & he wouldn't have done what he did.

Hello Anna, the post called "As Told By His Mother: Mrs. Maria Pruetzel" is the book, I post that for those who do not have the book. The only thing is missing is the pictures. I do not mind posting it because I know it is hard to get this book. All you have to do is click and read, you don't have to flip pages. Every chance I get, I am still posting. Right now I am on his happy times, his childhood.

From what I've read about him and even from seeing the energy he radiated on his TV show, I feel that he was a vivacious, impulsive guy, maybe a little quick to anger. Someone who could be a hilarious joker one minute and brooding the next. Someone who would do almost anything for a laugh or a rise out of someone. (My husband is just like that--sometimes he's hard to live with, but I love the nut!) And Freddie was barely out of his teens, and with everything going crazy around him; the sudden rise to fame, the drugs, the crumbled marraige, the financial problems, the depression...the poor guy needed the right psychological help!! I used to think that celebrities had it SO easy, but, afterall, they're only human and they have their problems, too!

Hello Anna, if you just read about the funeral and the guitar then yes you did miss a lot. Everything that Karen mentioned has been posted; the financial problems, marital problems, drugs, fame, the hospital, the funeral, how his parents met, and then some. As I said before, I am still posting and I am on his childhood right now. Just click on page one and read page one to the present post. I know a lot of parts are going to be tough to read but just make sure that you have some Kleenex beside you. Also, I know it is a lot to read because it was a lot to type, but I wanted to share Mrs. Pruetzel's book with anyone that did not have the book. As soon as I figure out this scanner then I will display the pictures.

Majority of your questions regarding Freddie's temper can be answered by Maria Pruetzel, we all must pull together and write to Oprah and Barbara to interview Mrs. Pruetzel. I have been writing every single week but I can't do it alone. We all have questions that majority that can be answered by her. If they see a high demand for her then she will be on the show. Also Nat can answer some of our questions. So Let's all keep on writing and flood the office.

Unfortunately many great performers and artists suffer from this disorder. It might be linked to the artistic temperment that you hear so much about. Anxiety disorder and the accompaning panic attacks seem to go hand in hand with manic depression and clinical depression as well. Valium and Xanax as well as newer versions of these drugs are prescribed for these disorders today. In Freddie's day, methaqualone was the prefered drug of choice. Like Anna observed, they know more about treatment for these disorders today then they did in Freddie's day, but it still is hard to diagnose and treat. And the addictive nature of the drugs used hasn't changed, sorry to say. I know cause I'm a sufferer too! Mine was a mild enough case that I am able to control it without the drugs I used to take for it. (Valium and Xanax)

Question

I just had another thought - does anyone know when Tony Orlando found out he was a manic depressive? He seemed to be able to get the proper help, as he is doing fine now. I thought it wasn't too long after Freddie's death that Tony had what he called a "breakdown" and retired from showbiz for a while. Wonder how and what they used to treat Tony?
