I though it would be fun to have a thread about Earth's most geographical or climate extreme such as tallest mountain, deepest lake, largest city, coldest or hottest place on earth. I go first

Ulaanbaatar: Capital city of Mongolia in Asia with the population of 1.79 million, Ulaanbaatar is the coldest national capital in the world, and the coldest city on the planet with more than a million inhabitants. January temperatures at night hover around −32.8 and −40.0 °F.

Caspian Sea; The Caspian Sea is the world's largest inland body of water, also described as the world's largest lake. It is located in Asia and Europe with Russia bordering to its north shore and Iran to its south shore.

Apparently the hottest place on Earth is Furnace Creek in Death Valley, California, USA, with a verified maximum of 56.7 °C (134 °F) recorded on July 10, 1913.

Not only hottest air temperature in the world, but Furnace Creek also hold the record for having the hottest ground surface temperature in the world coming in at 201°F. Which mean if you throw some water on the ground, it almost start boiling.
