Default Your favorite sitcoms in the Sitcoms Online 10,000 Club

Sitcoms that have 10,000 or more posts here. I counted thirty nine. Multiple choices allowed. I hope I didn’t miss any. This is the most work I’ve done in a while.

Oh shoot. I forgot to check off Different Strokes ! ( What you talkin' about Opus)?

So besides DS, I picked I Love Lucy , Gilligan's Island, Alice, The Brady Bunch, One day at a time, Sanford and Son, Who's the boss, Roseanne, Wings, The King of Queens.

And Oh shoot again !! How could I have forgotten to check off Friends? One of my top favorite shows!

The top tier that is this group's cream of the crop- I will definitely vote for every show in this tier.
1. Frasier- og only
2. I Love Lucy
3. Wings- not as good as Frasier but easily better than more famous Cheers from the same creators
4. The Andy Griffith Show
5. The Dick Van Dyke Show
6. M*A*S*H
7. Family Ties
8. Seinfeld
9. The Facts of Life
10. Bewitched- Dick York seasons are top notch. But life gets sucked out of it in the Dick Sargent era.
11. The Mary Tyler Moore Show
12. Happy Days
13. Diff'rent Strokes- fun to watch until Sam and Maggie took over
14. The Jeffersons- I am in the camp that prefer the later era when George and Tom became friends. Too much ugliness to start, but it became a really good show.

Solid 2nd tier- good shows but not quite like top tier. Most of this tier, if not all, will get my votes.
15. Leave it to Beaver
16. Cheers
17. Mama's Family
18. Who's the Boss?
19. The Cosby Show
20. 8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter (Title never should have been changed, they were still Kate's daughters as well.)
21. One Day at a Time- Biggest chameleon of the list. Barbara is great and some of the others are solid, but highly irritating Schneider torpedoes its likability.

Middle tier- Decent shows I like some, but a bit below solid. I probably won't vote for anything in this tier (except for maybe Gilligan).
22. Gilligan's Island- I liked this show more when I was younger. But it does hold up for me better than Sherwood Schwartz's other famous entry The Brady Bunch.
23. The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet
24. Friends- not in the hate category anymore. But there are a lot better shows that could be getting 6 hour marathons every day..

Tier 4
25. The Brady Bunch- Jan then Marcia are the best parts. But I was a lot more interested in this show when I was younger. And I easily prefer less popular classic sitcoms like Family Affair, The Patty Duke Show, Bachelor Father, The Munsters, and That Girl.
26. Family Matters- too bad a decent show jumped the shark with too much Urkel
27. Three's Company- John Ritter is a great actor. But the writing of this show is generally too sleazy for me.
28. The Golden Girls- Way overplayed on so many networks? Yes. It does have good acting, though.
29. Sanford & Son- This show has grown on me slightly. Emphasis on slightly. But I will take Sanford & Son any day over Good Times.

Never seen this duo
Chico and the Man- very slight interest. But so many shows are ahead of it on my online want list.
That's So Raven- no interest in ever seeing this. Are there even any TSR fans left here 2 decades later?

Bottom tier not in any order
The Honeymooners- highly overrated and glorifies domestic abuse
Alice- When it comes to waitress sitcoms, I will take the Crystal Bernard era of It's a Living over Alice any day.
All In The Family- a truly ugly sitcom with unlikable characters
Good Times
Full House- I was a fan when a lot younger. But other TGIF shows like Boy Meets World and Sabrina the Teenage Witch hold up much better.
Roseanne- Seriously, for anyone who has ever complained about Fran Drescher's voice, isn't Roseanne's voice worse?
Saved By The Bell
The King Of Queens

That's So Raven has a humongous amount of posts here. Yet comparable shows Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana have less than 5,000 posts combined.

I Love Lucy with Mama’s Family coming in a very close second. So many good ones on this list.

8 Simple Rules (etc.) was the lowest on the list with 10,384 posts. And there’s a roleplaying/fanfic type thread with 1060 posts.

Without that one it doesn’t make the club.

I don’t know if you think animated should be included but I overlooked The Simpsons, who are also over 10,000.

I remember that one being pretty active when the show was in production, both before and after John Ritter died.

Leave it to Beaver is running away with this, almost perfect with 7 out of 8 votes. Four way tie for #2 with I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, Gilligan's Island, and Happy Days all at 5 votes. Then 7 shows are at 4 votes (none of them past the 80s though). opus hasn't voted in his own poll, only vote for One Day at a Time so far is Bonnie's.

One of my (many) character flaws is starting a poll and then forgetting to actually vote in it. But I just clicked off the shows I'd be willing to sit down and see an episode of in syndication to one degree or another. There were 25 of them.

[I would also have picked The Simpsons if I had put them in there]

I added The Simpsons to the poll and opus' vote to the total. I also changed the spelling of Different Strokes to Diff'rent Strokes.

I voted for Leave it to Beaver, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, Three's Company, Cheers, Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, Family Ties and Seinfeld.

The misspelling of Frasier has been bugging me, if you could change that as well.
