Many of us here have expressed how until TVLand ran the CATM Fandemonium earlier this year, we could not find anything on Freddie, Sr. So I do thank TV Land for broadcasting this great show and all of you for being here and starting the other fine websites dedicated to Freddie.
I do not know if any of you remember this, (Croiter may, seeing that he is a journalist) but, shortly after Freddie passed, his Mom successfully sued in court to prohibit any merchandising of her son's image or name. She expressed indignation at how Elvis' image had been sold shamelessly and she did not want that to happen to her son. I definitely understand her feelings, just look at how other celebrities have been making money for people (sharks) after their deaths. Even now, the widow of Dale Earnhardt is trying to stop the publication of her husband's autopsy photos. Just thought this may partially explain why we did not see much on Freddie after he left us. FREDDIE FOREVER! |

I can certainly understand Mrs. Pruetzel's point. There are people don't even care about a celebrity, but are interested in merchandising their images soley for their own profit. Freddie was lucky to have such a caring mother.

I can understadn what his mom did.Still it would've been nice to have had some stuff on him. What she could've done was maybe put out some stuff that would've been dignified on him like pics or t-shirts & controlled what was put out & the proceeedsz go to her & the baby. That would've been a way to do it without over merchandising his memory. I'm glad I was able to make my own t-shirts or him. I'm wearing one now!
