Lightbulb Hi MTM Fans

Hi There,
Greetings from the UK,have been a fan of The Mary Tyler Moore Show since being a small child, also loved "Rhoda" Phyllis" and "Lou Grant".
Loved the theme tune, credits, the characters,Mary's wacky friends,Mary/Rhoda's terrible dates, poor Mary was so polite to Sue Ann,who saw any other woman as a rival to Lou's affection!
You're so lucky to have DVD releases of MTMS in the US,no plans for UK releaze and I only have a region2 DVD player.
Have a signed picture of Mary, had it fifteen years, still up on my wall though.
Would love to hear from other MTM fans, saw the recent "Mary and Rhoda" movie, diappointed there weren't more of the orginal cast in the movie.
Mary's COOL!

Hi! It's too bad you don't have the DVD's in the UK yet! They rock!! There were lots of great bonuses, and Season 2 is supposed to be out March of '03 for us.

I have several autographs from Mary. One I keep framed on my nightstand, so I know how exciting it is to have one from her!

Anyway, welcome to our humble little group. We need more posters, so I hope you stay around!
Kristen

PS-Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!

Welcome to the board scotsguy!

We've talked already on the Rhoda board - I posted for the first time there yesterday. "Small world" - huh?

Peace ~

Welcome Scotsguy! They really have the MTM show, let alone Rhoda, Lou Grant, and Phyllis over there?? Wow! I'm impressed, I didn't think they ever got to your side of the pond. Well anyway, there can never be too many people from the UK around IMO so we're glad to have you!

Talking US Sitcoms in the UK

Thanks Roz,
"Rhoda" was the show, shown most often over here,it was when I got satellite TV,I saw MTM show from the beginning but they stopped showing MTM show in the '75 season, last one was the one with Murray working for Sue-Ann.
"Phyllis" was shown to the end of its run and "Lou Grant" was very popular over here too.
Liked "The Betty White Show" too,not a spin-off from MTM show but had Betty and Georgia Engel in it,shame it didn't last longer.
Fav quote from MTM show,Rhoda to Mary, when about to eat a segment from a box of chocolates:
"I don't know why I'm putting this in my mouth,I should just apply it directly to my hips!
