Cool Least Favourite Character

Thanks for your message Goldie, this is a great site!
My least favourite character in "Rhoda" was Benny,Brenda's boyfriend, just found him unfunny and didn't like the way he treated Brenda,Gary was funnier.
One of my fav "Rhoda" episodes was The Engagement
Shower,Mryna was a great character, shame she vanished after the first two seasons.
Anyone remember Sally the airhostess?
She filled the "Ida" role when Nancy Walker was absent from season three, then she too vanished.
I liked Joe,when he and Rhoda split,it was heart breaking stuff, but yes,"Rhoda" worked best with her being single, worst date, was in the last season, the little bald man who was so rude and liked to dance in Chinese restaurants!

Hi scotsguy -

I think people either liked Joe or they didn't - to me, it just didn't seem like the right chemistry between the characters because Rhoda was so original and funny and Joe did not seem to blend in to her world, because it was "her" world to the viewer since we knew her so well and he was a new character. Does that make sense?

Benny was kind of low-key, and yes, Gary was really funny.

Do you know who played the part of Sally? If you don't, it was Anne Meara (of the comedy team of Stiller and Meara) and her son is the actor today Ben Stiller. A bit of trivia.

I think Rhoda was an interesting character: funny, smart, a good friend, funky taste in decorating and clothes.

Peace ~

Really well put, Goldie! That's pretty much my feelings about Joe too. He was really charming when he and Rhoda were just dating, but somehow the minute they said "I do" he changed. He seemed to be a bit of a control freak when it came to Rhoda. And we all know, Rhoda's not the type to let a guy tell her what to do!!

Yeah, I never really cared much for Joe. I agree about him being a control freak.

Benny was boring, I thought.

I never liked Jack, the guy Rhoda worked for in the later eps. He wasn't funny at all, and he was really annoying. At that point, the show felt really desparate anyway.

You are so right. If there's one thing Rhoda wasn't, it was a doormat!!
