Default Sanford Arms had to be the worst sitcom since the invention of TV Sets

Sanford Arms had no Lamont and No Fred but it did have Aunt Esther, Bubba and Grady-LOL LOL. I'm sorry i cannot stop laughing at the fact that NBC was impressed with the pilot to actually put the show on the air. Whoever came up with the idea of Sanford Arms should have known that these three characters were only funny in the presence of Fred. Which is probably why it was YANKED off the air in less than 4 weeks. I cannot imagine watching a 30min show with AUNT ESTHER as the main character.

Well, I can't actually comment on the show because I've never seen it. I have heard that it was pretty crappy. I got a theory though. NBC thought they could keep the cash cow rolling with SA. Hey, people liked Sanford and Son right? Well, the unfortunate thing is Redd and Demond will not be in this new Sanford Arms show. So? We can do this thing without them. Don't you know that people will watch anything with the words 'Sanford' in the title? People will assume this has something to do with Fred and Lamont. The viewers will turn in to watch the show and they'll be disappointed that F & L isn't in it. Then when they finish watching the actual SA show, they'll laugh and say, 'Goes to show they can run a good show without Redd and Demond. This was hysterical! Who knew the characters could be so funny w/o Fred and Lamont.' NBC got shook around and realized that without Redd and Demond then they didn't have a show.

Hey Jenny i received the sanford arms episode today and i'm watching it now. i don't know where to start. First of all Grady and that women that Fred didn't want him to marry on Sanford and Son are married on this show. Sweet Daddy Williams from Good Times has moved in Fred and Lamont's old house with his son and daughter. There is no mother because it's said on the show that she died. Bubba works at Sanford Arms and Aunt Esther is landlady. What a mess!

Yep, it sounds like they threw it all together within a moments notice. Just you describing what's going on just makes it seem so unbuyable, you know? I know you prob. won't watch the episode again, but at least you can say that you've seen it and do have one episode- even if it sucked.

Didn't SA land on Tv Guide's Worst Shows list?

I'm a little shocked but Sanford Arms did make TV Guide's worst 50 shows list. Maybe it was number 51-LOL
