I have one question. Why would the producers have Lou Gossett on Good Times as Thelma's Older boyfriend in season 2 and then bring him back in season 3 as Florida's Brother? Can you say BLOOPER!! I sure can. I know people who followed Good Times in the 70's picked up on that when they saw Lou Gossett a second time as Florida's Brother.

Using the same actor for different characters has been done before, It's not unusual.
Case in point, Linda Purl and Happy Days. She portrayed Gloria from 1974-75 and then Ashley Pfister from 1982-83. and.... Marcia Rodd and All In The Family. January 1972 she played Marilyn Sanders in "Mike's Mysterious Son" March 1972 she played Carol Trainer in "Maude" (The Bunkers go up to Tuckahoe for Carol's wedding) Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Actually, producers use the same actors for different characters in shows all the time. This is done because they are already familiar with the actors and it is easier than breaking in someone new. Usually it is done with minor roles but if it is done with a major character I guess you could then call it a blooper.

A blooper is something that happens by accident. In the case of Louis Gossett Jr., I'm sure they knew they already used him once before. They just liked his acting skills. You are using the wrong terminology.

A mistake is something they did and did not realize it. I'm sure the writers realized that they already used Gossett before. How about you say something like "Something that Solomon personally didn't like about Good Times." It's not a mistake and is certainly not a blooper.

I wouldn't be perturbed about it. It's only a sitcom.

I just watch the show and enjoy it without picking apart every little pointless detail.

I recall seeing the same woman play the part of a clerk when J.J. was applying for unemployment insurance and in another episode as a waitress at a bar waiting on both Florida and Willona (it was the one in which Florida was picked up by a bald middle-aged guy).
