A deep track is a non‑single, often overlooked song that lives outside an artist’s commercial spotlight and often reveals their most distinctive ideas, risks, or emotional undercurrents. These are the cuts tucked between the hits: album-only pieces that reward listeners who move past radio staples and explore the full creative terrain of a record.
Deep tracks frequently showcase experimental production, intimate storytelling, or stylistic detours that define an artist more honestly than their charting songs, making them a favorite subject for fans who enjoy album archaeology and hidden‑gem discovery. For the purposes of this thread, here’s what constitutes a deep track: •The track was never released as a single. •No (official) music video exists for the track. •The track has received very little-to-no radio airplay. •The track is not widely known by people who don’t own the album. That’s it. Anything else goes. It can be any artist, any genre, from any year. I’ll start: “Here She Comes” by The Beach Boys, from the album Carl and the Passions: “So Tough” (1972). |

I don’t know if this fits all the given criteria, but the only time I ever hear this is if I pull it up myself

“Atlanta” by Stone Temple Pilots, from the album № 4 (1999). Perhaps the finest vocal Scott Weiland ever laid down in a studio. A hauntingly beautiful track.
Here’s the remaining three original members of the band paying tribute to their fallen comrade and revisiting the multitrack of the song a few weeks after Scott’s death: |

Laura off The Nylon Curtain, 1982.
If it ever got any radio play it would have to be edited at one point, because it’s got a word in it the site would censor out. https://youtu.be/BzH3ah4OaWM?is=2yalqAYGj0G8AIwL |

I'm thinking " Dear Prudence" by the Beatles , from the White album. A beautiful lesser known song.
I'm wondering if someone could post a video of Dear Prudence for me? I really don't know how to on a cell phone.

He wasn’t going to specifically say the song was about his mom while she was still alive, but the “umbilical cord” lyric is a huge tell. From Wikipedia:

And here’s the O.G. with the crossfade just for the sake of authenticity: John wrote the song about Prudence Farrow, Mia’s sister, who was in India to see the Maharishi at the same time The Beatles were. She spent a lot of her time there isolating herself in her room. |
