Was the song modeled after Belinda Carlisle's "Mad About You"
Let me clarify before anybody tries to correct me, I'm referring to the version from the Powell family episodes in first-run syndication (1987-90), not the first season on CBS with the Pembrokes. The Season 1 version of the theme song was a lot gentler and saccharine sounding:
I say this because, I'm well aware that "Mad About You" by Belinda Carlisle was released in 1986. Maybe I'm imagining things, but it seems like to me, "Mad About You" and the remixed version of the Charles in Charge theme almost have the same kind of melody. |
