Are people expecting World Cup 2026 commercials to be huge?

Now that World Cup mania has officially began I have seen countless commercials promoting World Cup 2026 from Nestle to Nabisco and even McDonald's and it tells me that commercials for World Cup 2026 will be huge and in my eyes whenever big sporting events like World Cup or The Summer/Winter Olympics happen it means that these commercials will become pieces of nostalgia. But I think people are expecting World Cup 2026 to be big for commercials. But you cannot believe the countless sponsors doing World Cup 2026 commercials like Kellogg's Vicks and Coca-Cola and M&M's

I think people expect World Cup 2026 as one of the historic World Cups in history and in my eyes World Cup 2026 will be remembered as the biggest sport for getting a lot of commercials second to the Super Bowl. Because I cannot believe how many commercials World Cup 2026 has been promoting itself in. But the one that will probably get all the credit is Coca-Cola because even before World Cup 2026 started they constantly hyped World Cup 2026 all over Coca-Cola cans and has had many commercials. And another fast food place that has promoted World Cup 2026 a lot in commercials is McDonald's and they have World Cup Happy Meals and World Cup 2026 contests too and even Domino's Pizza has gotten World Cup 2026 commercials too. And what I think is this year's World Cup probably asked a lot of products for commercial airtime and sponsorship. Because a lot of people are thinking that World Cup 2026 is getting big ratings and commercial sponsorship is helping. When you get the general picture big sporting events like The Olympics the Super Bowl and The World Series get hyped a lot and gain high ratings due to commercial sponsorship and World Cup 2026 fits this category and I can guarantee when World Cup 2026 ends Coca-Cola and McDonald's will probably score big in their World Cup 2026 commercials

Soccer doesn't play like the the other sports (NFL and MLB for example), once a half starts the clock runs continuously. If there is a stoppage of play because of an injured player the clock keeps running, time is added at the end of a half to address stoppage of play issues. My point, there's no opportunity to place commercials during game play, only at the half. This World Cup features a hydration break at about the midpoint of a half. This break which lasts for about three minutes has sparked outrage from the fans. FOX has gone to commercials during this break, Univision does not, as a result some fans have watched the Univision coverage (I'm in that group) to avoid the interruption.

The halftime show and the pre and post game programming are the primary areas where viewers will be exposed to commercials which limits their overall impact. The audience member can watch as much or as little of that programming as they choose without missing any game action.

The World Cup is a great viewing experience for both the dedicated and casual soccer fan.

I don't hate sports, unless they are in the icky boxing/wrestling/fighting family. But it did annoy me that the NBA Finals thread was on the One Day at a Time board, artificially inflating that show's post count.
