The Act of Lying or Accusing Others of Lying

I have seen a lot of posts online lately where people accuse other people of lying or maybe they are actually lying themselves.

As far as accusing someone else of lying...its almost impossible to know if someone else is lying in most situations. The only way you can really know if someone is lying is if you are intimately/personally involved in the situation yourself. For instance: If ya know for a fact that you spent $35 for a pair of shoes that usually sell for $80 and someone says "I dont believe you,show me the receipt". You can show them.

But there are people who will lie about what they spent. Why would they do that?

Just to get attention and look big??
