Matthew Rhys Reveals he Tried to Pitch "Brothers & Sisters" Holiday Special
Matthew Rhys and Dave Annable Tried to Make a "Brothers & Sisters" Holiday Special Happen
by Derek Lawrence June 9, 2026 Matthew Rhys might currently be dealing with supernatural forces in New England, but he's ready to head back to Southern California. The Emmy winner became a household name thanks to "The Americans", and he's now headlining Apple TV's hit horror-comedy "Widow's Bay". And yet, he hasn't moved on from his American breakthrough. The Welsh actor's first major Hollywood role was lawyer Kevin Walker on ABC's "Brothers & Sisters", which followed the love and dysfunction within the Walker family. The series was canceled in 2011 after five seasons, but Rhys has revealed that he, costar Dave Annable, and producer Ken Olin attempted to pitch a two-hour holiday special to conclude the story of the Walkers. “One of the reasons we did it was because people still come up and say, ‘I really love Brothers & Sisters,’” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview over the weekend, “which is why we were like, ‘People would still watch it!’” Even though the idea hasn't come to fruition, Rhys believes that there's still an opportunity, given Disney's recent revivals of "Scrubs" and "Malcolm in the Middle". https://ew.com/matthew-rhys-and-dave...appen-11993957 |
