you need a computer video capture device hooked from your computer to vcr or tv, such as a snappy or a video graphics card. Do you have one of those yet?

LOL, A BUNCH!
![]() No, fly over to amazon.com and check out "all-in-wonder", that's what I have. Capture video to make vcds and blah blah blah. If just to do frame grabs, a "snappy" will do. Back when I had one, mine was like $40 or so. I had to special order it because no one in town carried it. You plug it into the back of your pc where your printer usually goes and then hook a cable into it from the tv, so you can see the video on your screen, then snap away. It's a bit on the fragile side. later ~~~ |

You can get Snappys pretty cheap now since the company went out of business. I got mine for ~ $13.

Hey, thats right on! I'm thinking when I got mine, I had been looking for a long time, and they had finally come down in price from like, $80 to $30 or $40, gosh that was so long ago. My friend wanted me to get it for our website so we could have some fun with it and it did serve us well, but it fell apart so many times! Had to buy new battery leads and a wire stripper to keep fixing it - what a pain. But when I got my adorable baby video capture card and saw it could do grabs, I gave my snappy away.
If you can find one inexpensive, it's not a bad idea at all. You will want to take the battery out whenever you aren't actually using it, though. I went through a battery a day, till I found that out. Walgreens is a great source for .29 cent 9 volt batteries - they go on sale like that a lot. |
